RappU Healthcare Training

Let RappU get you started on your career in healthcare. We offer a range of courses, starting with Home Health Aide (also known as Personal Care Aide), the more advanced Nurse Aide (which requires passing the Virginia Board of Nursing certification exam), and expanding your knowledge by adding Medication Technician Board of Nursing certification (also a Virginia exam). RappU also offers the beginning Emergency Medical Services EMT Basic course, required of anyone wanting to launch a career as an emergency medical technician.

Nurse Aide

Nurse aides, also called nurse assistants, maintain patient hygiene and support doctors and nurses in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments. Some nurse aides also may administer medication depending on their training level and the state in which they work. In nursing homes and residential care facilities, nurse aides are often the principal caregivers. They have more contact with residents than other members of the staff. Because some residents live in a nursing home for months or years, nurse aides may develop close relationships with their residents.

Home Health Aide

Home health aides, also known as personal care aides, provide personal assistance and support services for elderly, disabled, acute or chronically ill individuals who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. They work with individuals who have chronic and/or complex medical conditions, physical or cognitive disabilities, or who require end-of-life care.

Medication Technician

Medication aides are certified to administer medications to residents of assisted living facilities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You must already be a certified nurse aide or personal care aide in order to take this course.

EMT Basic Life Support

Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) care for the sick or injured in emergency medical settings. People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care provided by these workers. EMTs respond to emergency calls, performing medical services and transporting patients to medical facilities.
